New Rules Regarding Pregnancy

These are rule amendments regarding pregnancy and the rules of realism that are required on site.

I would not have to suggest these if I did not see some users on the site trying to do these very things. A lot of rules on World of Potter are just common sense in general and don’t need to be listed. I thought this was one of them, but apparently not.

  • - “Users who are pregnant must promote safe practice during their roleplayed pregnancy. A pregnancy lasts between 8-9 IG weeks unless time-skipped.”

  • - “Miscarriages, abortions, and very premature births are not allowed as they can be distressing to individuals. If the user decides not to have their baby while pregnant, they act like it never happened and everything resumes as normal.”

  • - “Pregnancy must be roleplayed respectfully, and endangering the unborn child (drinking, smoking, dueling, brawling) will not be tolerated due to its potentially triggering nature, and the user will be given a warning.”

  • - “We advise, despite its non-sexual nature, that births be time-skipped or taken to owl interactions due to its potentially uncomfortable nature to other users. Graphic births, c-sections, and other graphic surgical procedures are not allowed in forums and users will be asked to time-skip or write privately in owls.”

A few others did agree that the portrayal of pregnancies in a dangerous or insensitive way on site was agitating to them, and a bad example to younger users on site. I believe by making these rules or a variation of them visible on site will notify users to know that this is not encouraged and that pregnancy must be treated as a respectful subject.
