BAN AI in topics completely.

On the site rules for World of Potter US, the rules of AI are as follows: As a creative site, we encourage you to use art from talented artists and creators in your profile, backstory, and topics, instead of images created by AI. By doing so, you can give them and their platform more exposure and show respect towards their work. Regarding texts, we also highly encourage you to write your own content, as it helps you improve your skills and nurtures your creativity. You are not allowed to use any AI-generated content during competitions, homework (view ‘Homework’ rules), or for your job on this site (e.g. journalist, librarian, …). AI is also not allowed to be used to create profile texts or backstories. We do not recommend the use of AI generated images for FCs as well. However, topics are not mentioned in the above places that AI is banned. They claim that this site promotes creativity, but the very main purpose of the site: roleplay, still allows AI to be used. This, I believe should head in the same was as WoO EU, which is the fact that no AI is allowed anywhere. Due to the presence of the new point earning system with writing, there are certain writers who write only AI, in topics. They often team up with each other, or with their own alts, and write to gain points, even bragging about 1000-word replies. As someone who has been tricked into writing with people like this, I would like this allowance to be curbed or snuffed out. This is due to the fact, that having your writing put through a third party to churn out a response is against site terms of service as they do not have permission to take the writing from the site to a third party. The writing for the site is for site use only. That is what we agree to. No more than that. Your Right to Post Content World of Potter allows you to post Content. You are responsible for the content that you post to World of Potter, including its legality, reliability, and appropriateness. By posting content to World of Potter, you grant us the right and license to use, modify, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, and distribute such Content on and through World of Potter. You retain any and all of your rights to any Content you submit, post or display on or through World of Potter and you are responsible for protecting those rights. You agree that this license includes the right for us to make your Content available to other users of World of Potter, who may also use your Content subject to these Terms. You verify and warrant that: (i) the Content is yours (You own it) or you have the right to use it and grant us the rights and license as provided in these Terms, and (ii) the posting of your Content on or through World of Potter does not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contract rights or any other rights of any person. This request has been given to the higher ups several times through owls, and ignored, and I would like to take it to somewhere that has more visibility. When someone takes me writing and makes a reply, they are not only using my writing without my consent, but they are also feeding my writing to a machine that then uses it for training against my consent. Then they post it to the site and are rewarded for it with 7 points. I believe that if you shouldn’t be allowed to use AI in homework, because it puts the teacher’s writing through a bot and trains off their writing, then the same rule should be given to protect student writing as well. It seems unfair that people have to go the hard route of homework writing lengthy replies, and grading, only for some students who had no moral obligation or respect for their fellow writers be able to effortlessly rack up points and exp because the site allows it.

Show "Read" on Owls

I don’t know how to stress this enough, but it feels like a lot of the time I am being ignored by staff when it comes to something that is urgent. I feel like they either don’t read my owl, or they lose it, or it gets read and ignored. I would like to have an indicator that my owl has been read, not only to soothe my own anxieties, but also because I would like to know whether I have to bump it again or resend because it didn’t get through after a month instead of waiting in vain for assistance. Benefits: It would me know if the owl may have buried in their owls after a week and I need to send again It would help smooth out communication and prevent accusations of “nagging” It would save an “okay I’ve read your owl” from the recipient It would let me know I am not being ignored and assure me that at least they are made aware of my message It would make me feel heard, even if I don’t get an immediate reply It would encourage patience because they at least know to wait for a reply Losses: You could still ignore someone by not even opening the owl to begin with People might feel exposed and feel like they owe a reply after a short time period Reading a request and not replying to it may make you feel like you own someone an explanation You can’t unread an owl (if you could that would remove the entire point of this feature) In example of how this would work: Say I send an owl to a random staff. If it isn’t shown to be read in a week, I could send it again or bump it, so they see it if they haven’t. If I sent a letter to a staff member, and they read it, but didn’t do anything about it, not even a response after a week, I could push for a response without it feeling like nagging. If I were to get an owl from someone, and I did read it, and it was important, they could be reassured knowing I did read it, and that’s acknowledgement, and it may make them decide to wait a bit before sending another owl, asking for me to respond. If I send an owl that is urgent (bullying report, harassment, homework theft, etc), and it is read, and no one responds for a week, and I send another request in a week, and that is ignored, and this happens in multiple instances over many weeks, then I could report them to a higher up for disciplinary action due to a potential neglect of duties, instead of allowing this to carry on where I just keep sending owls to someone’s answering machine. Note: I understand that people are busy, and this of course is not directed at any individual in particular nor is it a suggestion that is intended to bring about a new method of stress and harassment, but I feel like this would be a quality-of-life improvement that could be used to prevent misunderstandings and frustrations across sites and is appealing to many individuals, especially like me. I have Autism and I need people to be clear and concise with me when it comes to messages, not just open-ended, vague replies or people ignoring me, as it is incredibly stressful for me as a person. Not everyone can just “infer” what the other is thinking, and for me as a person it would help settle communication issues that I may have. Also, negativity aside — Happy Pride Month :)
