Make IG Date editable

It would be very beneficial to implement the InGame Date (IG) in topics as an editable field and completely eliminate the Past forum (or keep it for specific occasions).

My proposal would be to implement a "IG Date" field when opening a new topic, allowing users to select the exact date from a calendar or similar. If date isn’t selected, it would automatically display the current IG date.

It could even be easier to implement if it were a fillable field, like weather or time. In fact, if "time" is editable to indicate specific hours, why not specify the week and year of that moment?

I believe this could be very useful for the community and would generate cleaner and more organized topic threads or "series."

Cheers!❤️

Just want to add, that in case you have a character at a higher age (e.g. 70+) it would be crucial that it is editable enough to add years from even before WoP year 1.

On WoP DK we often use “Year 3 b.WoP (before WoP)” so if we were to have this, it would have to be ‘write in’ or another system that acknowledge that characters that have been here for a long time and choose to raise their age (and thus are born/went to Hogwarts way before year 1 on WoP) should also still be able to create topics in the past.

Like it shouldn’t be limited to “you can only pick from between year 1 and year 46”

I thought about this too (great minds think alike), and it would offer a nice amount of flexibility + one less topic forum out of many.

Already created topics would still need to be accessible though, if we want to go back and read them later (similar to old topics created in boys’/girls’ dormitories)
