It would be extremely useful if we were able to like blog posts in the same way we can like other articles on the site. I understand that many years ago, this was possible only with a linked Facebook account, but this feature was eventually removed and now the only way users can interact with the blog is through comments.
This makes it pretty difficult to gauge how successful the blog actually is, even just within the site’s pre-existing userbase. Having the ability to like these posts would make this easier to evaluate, and I feel like it would help the blog a lot even if it still required you to have an account on site, since a) it would allow the social media team see how many site users read but don’t comment on their articles, and b) it would show any non site users that the blog and our sites are getting better levels of engagement than if they only see comments.
I don’t know the full reasons as to why this feature was removed, but I think it’d definitely be worth implementing (or at least considering) once again, whether as a feature for everyone or just for site users :)
